Financial Alchemist

Your numbers should make sense to you

Not just your accountant.

Hi! I’m Alisa, an ACCA-qualified financial systems architect. I work with founders and freelancers to build financial clarity: organising systems, translating reports and giving you the understanding you need to make confident decisions.

this is Alisa, the Financial Alchemist helps founders and freelancers gain financial clarity and support through organised systems, translated reports and ongoing guidance.

You’re running a business that works.

Clients are coming in. Money is moving.

But the financial side still feels… unclear.

You sign documents from your accountant without fully understanding them.

Money comes in, but you’re not sure what’s actually yours to spend.

Receipts, invoices and screenshots are scattered everywhere

Tax deadlines bring a wave of stress every time they approach.

This is where I come in.

I work between founders and accountants: filling the gap where financial understanding is usually missing.

Together we:

Build a financial system that captures and organises your data automatically.

Translate your P&L, cashflow and cost structure into decisions you can actually make .

Review your numbers monthly so nothing drifts, surprises you, or gets lost.

No jargon. No spreadsheet you’ll never open again. Just clarity.

What this looks like in practice

Event Budgeting

A clear budget framework for future events

A founder was spending on conferences and team events without any clear picture of what they were actually paying per person or per event. We ran a detailed historical analysis of past event costs. With that data, they built a realistic per-person budget for future events, and stopped overspending by default.

Tax Preparation

From 3 weeks of prep to just a few hours

A self-employed founder was spending 3 to 4 weeks pulling together records for their annual tax submission. Receipts, bank statements, invoices: all in different places, personal and business mixed together. We built a simple system: organised folders, a monthly bank reconciliation review, and a clear process for year-end. The following tax year, everything was already ready.

Tax Anxiety Resolved

the cash-aside system

A founder came to me in constant stress about tax bills. They had no visibility over which money was actually theirs to keep. We built a simple cash tracking report that broke down income by project and flagged exactly how much to set aside from each payment. The next tax bill was not a surprise. It was planned for.

Timesheet Automation

A 5-day process reduced to 1

An HR team was spending 3 to 5 days every month manually completing timesheets to send to their accountant. We designed and built an automated spreadsheet tailored to how they worked. The same process now takes one day. And the data arrives at the accountant clean, formatted and ready to process.

Subscription Audit

Unnecessary costs identified and removed

An IT founder had never reviewed their monthly software subscriptions. When we went through them together, we found tools no one was using anymore and licences paid for employees who had already left. Cost leaks identified, spending reduced, and a system put in place to review subscriptions quarterly going forward.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have other questions? Feel free to ask me directly.

No. And that’s intentional. Your accountant handles compliance: tax returns, annual accounts, statutory filings. That work requires a licensed professional and it stays with them. What I do is the layer in between: building the systems that feed your accountant clean data, and translating what their reports mean back to you. You keep your accountant. I make the relationship between you easier.

No. Each package is designed to stand alone. You start where you are. If your biggest problem right now is disorganisation, the Foundation Forge is the right place to begin. If your systems are already in place but you can’t read your reports, the Clarity Compass works independently. The Alchemist’s Stewardship is an ongoing engagement that works best after a project. But, if you already have clean systems and just need someone watching them, we can discuss starting there directly.

Nothing. The discovery call is a conversation, not an audit. You don’t need to have your finances organised, your numbers memorised, or a clear idea of what you need. That’s what the call is for. Show up, tell me what feels unclear or stressful, and we’ll work out what would actually help.

No. Part of what we do together is figure out what tools make sense for how you work. Some founders are best served by Xero (accounting software) , others by a well-structured Google Sheet. We make that decision together at the start, based on your business, your accountant’s requirements, and how hands-on you want to be. You don’t need to have anything set up in advance.

For the Foundation Forge and Clarity Compass, most projects run between 8 and 12 weeks. The timeline depends on the complexity of your setup and how quickly you’re able to review and give feedback at each stage. This is always built around your schedule, not a fixed deadline. The Alchemist’s Stewardship is an ongoing monthly engagement with no fixed end date.

Yes, the majority of my work is international. I work with founders across Europe and beyond, remotely, across time zones. If you operate in multiple currencies or jurisdictions, that’s not a complication; it’s something I work with regularly.

Yes. All client information is handled confidentially and covered by the engagement contract you sign before we start. I work under a professional confidentiality standard consistent with my ACCA qualification. Nothing you share is disclosed to any third party without your explicit agreement.
